Christmas Leftover Wraps

When Christmas has come and gone, we are often left with an abundance of food from our roast dinners. With our food hangovers in full swing, some healthy food options that use up those leftovers are just what we need! These turkey wraps are a great way to use up those leftovers and make use of ingredients that you probably already have in your fridge and pantry. The turkey can also be substituted with chicken, duck or gammon, depending on what you had for your Christmas meals.

Making Your Wraps
There are no specific ingredients for these wraps and you can use whatever leftovers you have in your fridge. Try our Anat wraps for the base which can be purchased from your nearest supermarket. Once you have your wraps you are ready to go.

  • Start by spreading some cranberry sauce over the bottom of your wrap. This adds a nice sweet flavour and goes well with your meat.
  • Top your cranberry sauce with your salad filings, including lettuce, rocket, tomatoes, avocado, grated carrot or anything else you find in your fridge. You can also add some grated cheese if you have this available. If you have pre-made salads left over from Christmas, simply use those instead.
  • Once you have added your greens you can go ahead and add your meat. Whether it’s turkey, ham, chicken or beef, dice or shred your meat and add it to your wrap.
  • Wrap them up and cut them in half. These are best served cold.

These wraps are a great way of using up your Christmas leftovers and also saving you a trip to the grocery store. If you have some left over stuffing, this adds something extra to your wrap and makes it even more tasty. With our warm summer Christmas holidays in South Africa, these wraps are quick and easy to make and perfect for enjoying outdoors or while lounging by the pool and will be enjoyed by the whole family! Now for the leftover dessert…
