Homemade Chicken Soup with Cheesy Pizza Dippers

Homemade Chicken Soup with Cheesy Pizza Dippers

May 6, 2019

Chicken soup is a firm family favourite, especially in winter. Try this delicious recipe with our tasty cheesy pizza dippers instead of toast or soup rolls. The kids will love it! Here’s what you’ll need and how to make it.

Ingredients
• 1 skinless whole chicken
• 4 Litres of cold water
• 2 turnips, chopped
• 2 chopped onions, cut into thin rings
• 2 chopped carrots, cooked until soft
• 4 leeks, chopped
• 4 celery stalks, as is or thinly sliced to make curls for serving
• 4 cloves
• 2 bay leaves
• 2 tsp black peppercorns
• 1 pack Anat pizza bases

Making Your Soup

Step 1
Place all your ingredients into a large saucepan and cover with the cold water. Bring to a boil and then turn down the heat and let it simmer until the chicken falls off the bone. It will take about 1 hour.

Step 2
Strain and reserve the liquid and spoon off any of the excess chicken fat.

Step 3
Chop the chicken into small pieces and add back to the soup liquid. You now have your soup and can heat and eat whenever you like. This can also be frozen.

Making Your Cheesy Pizza Dippers
To make your pizza dippers, all you will need is an Anat pizza base and mozzarella cheese (grated).

Preheat your oven to 108°C. Place your pizza base on a baking tray and sprinkle your grated cheese on top. Bake in the oven for around 10-15 minutes, until the base is crispy and the cheese is melted.

Remove your base from the oven and cut into triangles. Dip these into your soup and enjoy!
